Beautiful Savior is proud of our excellent music programs. We are constantly seeking new ways to involve our members musically. We currently have three active choirs: Senior Choir for adults, Junior Choir for children from 2nd - 5th grades, and an awesome Handbell Choir.

We welcome our new Choir Director, Jordi Yokers!

We welcome our new Music Director, Patrick Callahan!

Senior Choir

Open to adults and teens who love to sing to the Lord and are willing to serve our Sunday worship community with this vital and important ministry.
We rehearse every Wednesday from 6:45pm to 8:00pm during the school year, and usually sing three Sundays out of a month - alternating between 8:30 and 11:00 services. We also sing at a few festival services during the year.
Experienced singers are welcome, as are newer singers who are still in the process of learning basics of singing and note reading.

Junior Choir

Children in grades 2-5 are invited: we rehearse every Wednesday from 4 to 5 pm during the school year. We sing about every three weeks during regular Sunday worship, plus several special services during the year. During rehearsal we have fun while singing, improving our musical skills, and learning about church and worship.

Handbell Choir

We are currently seeking members who would be interested in practicing weekly and ringing one Sunday per month starting in September. Ages: High School through Adult. If interested, please sign the sheet located on the organ. Questions? Contact Patrick Callahan.
Worship the Lord with Praise!!

Our Handbell Choir will meet on Thursday's at 6:30pm. Come join in the ringing with Patrick Callahan!

Our New Music Director: Patrick Callahan

On June 25th we welcomed Patrick Callahan as our Church Musician and Director of Hand Bells. Patrick brings to our congregation a wonderful education in music (Graduate of Eastman School of Music) as well as serving many years in the capacity as organist/pianist, vocal, and hand bell director.
Besides Patrick's work in music, he is also the Program Coordinator of Parkinson's Resources of Oregon. Patrick is responsible for coordinating and managing over 40 Parkinson's disease support groups as well as oversees educational programs throughout SW Washington.

Our New Choir Director: Jordi Yokers

We are delighted to announce that Jordi Yokers has agreed to direct both the Adult Choir and the Youth Choir of Beautiful Savior. Jordi has already been serving as the interim director of these two choirs for a number of months. We feel very fortunate that she will now be the on-going staff person in our choir program. Jordi teaches choir in the Vancouver School District and brings talent, energy, spiritual depth and fun to our music program.

We also appreciate so much the work that Katie Greer volunteers with the youngest of our Youth Choirs, ages 3-5. We thank Katie for her willingness to continue working with this group. We also want to thank Sara Votava, Charlene Daniels, Suzanne Turnauer and all the parents who have helped us keep the youth choir going during this transition time.

The search goes on for an organist/pianist to regularly play on Sundays and also work with  the hand bell choir. We are advertising for this position. In the mean time we are blessed to have a number of substitute musicians who are playing on Sundays and for evening worship. We particularly want to thank Joan Vincent and Joanne Vahsholtz of our congregation, who have added so much to our worship through their music.

If you have input for us or a possible name to share for our music position, please speak to any of the people serving on our Worship and Music Search Team: Laura Blaisdell, Nancy Evans, Charlie Heiserman, Cheryl Pfaff, Joan Vincent, Joanne Vahsholtz, Richard and Carolyn Finch, or Pastor Jaech. This team is a combination of members from our Worship and Music Committee and our Human Resource Committee. We thank them for all of the good work they are doing.
